About PCSS-MAUD
Providers Clinical Support System – Medications for Alcohol Use Disorder is a national project funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to provide free, comprehensive training, guidance, and mentoring on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of alcohol use disorder. PCSS-MAUD aims to enhance the capacity of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates/physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, substance use disorder counseling professionals, and other healthcare professionals to treat individuals with AUD, including the use of Food and Drug Administration approved MAUD.
Educational Objectives
Objective 1: Develop and deliver comprehensive training to screen, diagnose, and treat AUD to enhance the knowledge and capacity of healthcare and counseling professionals. Training will be multidisciplinary and interprofessional.
Objective 2: Provide skill-based training tailored to different disciplines and practice settings, expanding the number of healthcare professionals who can assess and treat AUD.
Objective 3: Provide technical support, including mentorship and consultative services, to remove barriers to prescribing MAUD.
